How NEP Group Took Control of Its Revenue Forecasting

“The Product Schedules app is amazing - we absolutely love it, and it’s done amazing things to support NEP Group’s processes. The people and knowledge from GSP make it even more valuable.”

Carrie Cruz

Director of CPQ and CRM, NEP Group

NEP Group, a global media technology solutions company, was already using Salesforce to connect its teams and data worldwide. But as projects and teams grew, forecasting revenue became increasingly challenging.

By introducing the GSP Product Schedules app, NEP Group gained a powerful way to track and manage revenue recognition directly within Salesforce. The app now gives the business clear insight into how revenue flows over time, improving forecasting accuracy and financial visibility across the entire company.

THE CHALLENGE

Tracking Long-Term Revenue

When NEP Group initially adopted Salesforce, it became essential for connecting teams and data across regions. However, it soon became clear that NEP needed more advanced functionality to track and forecast revenue – particularly for long-term projects.

Many of NEP Group’s projects last for several years, which makes it difficult to see how revenue is distributed over time. In the broadcast and media services industry, income isn’t received when an opportunity closes; instead, it’s generated gradually over the lifetime of a project.

“If we have a project that's running, for example, over four months, and the project or opportunity total is $100,000, we want to be able to account for $25,000 each month - but we didn’t have the ability to do that”, said Carrie Cruz, Director of CPQ and CRM at NEP Group.

While the team explored several different approaches within Salesforce, none could handle the complexity of multi-year revenue allocation without manual work or reliance on spreadsheets. The team needed a way to forecast accurately while keeping everything within Salesforce.

THE SOLUTION

A Flexible Alternative

To solve this, Carrie began looking for ways to build on Salesforce’s existing functionality rather than replace it. After reviewing several options on the AppExchange, she discovered the GSP Product Schedules app.

The app offered the right balance of cost and capability – a key factor in justifying the investment.

“I had to be conscious of what we were spending. It didn’t make sense to spend a whole lot when Salesforce already had functionality built in. I thought the Product Schedules app was very reasonably priced for the capabilities it provides.”

Beyond automated revenue scheduling, Carrie saw that the app also included sales and team target tracking – another essential feature NEP Group needed.

“Not only does it provide the revenue scheduling capabilities, but also the sales targets and the team targets that come along with it, which was another task we needed to accomplish.”

Implementation of the Product Schedules app was quick and intuitive. The interface was easy to work with, and the GSP support team were always on hand to help, making the rollout smooth across the wider team.

“I can sleep well at night knowing that I can reach out with any issues I run into, and the next day there's a solution for it."

THE OUTCOME

Greater Visibility and Smarter Forecasting

Since implementing the GSP Product Schedules app, NEP Group has completely changed how it views and manages revenue. The team can spread income evenly across project timelines, track it by business unit or individual account manager, and forecast more accurately - all directly in Salesforce.

What once required multiple spreadsheets and manual calculations now happens seamlessly in Salesforce, saving valuable time and providing deeper financial insight.
