Assign Volume Pricing to Products

To assign your volume pricing records to products, you can do this in four ways:

  1. When Creating your Volume Pricing Records
  2. When Editing your Volume Pricing Records
  3. Populating the Volume Pricing Lookup on a Product Record
  4. Via the Dataloader

 

When Creating Volume Pricing Records

  1. Go to the Volume Pricing Tab.
  2. Click New Volume Pricing Group.
  3. Select either Bands.
  4. Fill out the required fields:
    • Volume Pricing Name – Give it an appropriate name. Try to use a standardized naming convention.
    • Price Book – Assign the appropriate Price Book for this Volume Pricing Group.
    • Start Date – When does the Volume Pricing Record become Active.
    • End Date – Optional, only populate if the Volume Pricing has an end date.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Add all your applicable products from the left-hand column using the plus button.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Set your band parameters.
  9. Then Save & Finish.

 

When Editing your Volume Pricing Records

  1. Go to the Volume Pricing Tab.
  2. Click the Volume Pricing Record you wish to edit.
  3. Select either Bands or Tiers.
  4. Modify any of the required fields where appropriate:
    • Volume Pricing Name – Give it an appropriate name. Try to use a standardized naming convention.
    • Price Book – Assign the appropriate Price Book for this Volume Pricing Group.
    • Start Date – When does the Volume Pricing Record become Active.
    • End Date – Optional, only populate if the Volume Pricing has an end date.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Add or Remove Products as you see fit by using the plus button on the left-hand column to add them and the X on the right-hand column to remove them.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Modify your Band or Tier parameters if applicable.
  9. Then Save & Finish.

 

Populating the Volume Pricing Lookup on a Product Record

  1. Go to the Product.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Populate the Volume Pricing Lookup field with the appropriate record.
  4. Click Save.

 

Populating Volume Pricing on Products Using the Dataloader

  1. Create a Products Report, export it as a CSV, and remember to include the product ID.
  2. Create a Volume Pricing Report, export it as a CSV, and remember to include the volume pricing ID.
  3. In the Excel Products Report File, populate the appropriate Volume Pricing ID on each Product Line.
  4. Use the dataloader to update the products using the product ID & volume pricing ID.
