When to Use Product Bundles vs Product Groups
Each package type has a specific use case.
Here are the definitions of each:
- Product Bundle – When you add a Bundle to an Opportunity, the total price of the components will be assigned to the Bundle Opportunity Product, and all components within the bundle have a $0 value.
- Product Group – When you add a Group to an Opportunity, the price of each component will be assigned to the Opportunity Product, and the Group Opportunity Product has a $0 value.
To summarise, you should use Product Bundles when pricing is done at the bundle level, so the value of each component is irrelevant. You should use Product Groups when the components are sold together, but pricing is done at the individual component level.
