When to use Bands vs Tiers

Below is the definition of bands & tiers:

  • Bands – The discount for the applicable band applies to all units, so the sales price for all units will be the same.
  • Tiers – Each unit will receive a discount on its tier, but the sales price for all units within a tier will be the same.

You should use bands when the price of all units for a given quantity is the same, whereas you should use tiers when the discount for each unit differs depending on which tier the units fall within.
