Use the Start Date on Opportunity Products with GSP Volume Pricing

Using the GSP Product Manager app alongside the Volume Pricing app, you can use volume pricing based on the Opportunity Product Start Date. You can configure this in the following way:

 

Add Start Date to the Product Manager – Non-Subscription Products Field Set

  1. Go to Setup
  2. Object Manager, Opportunity Product Object
  3. Field Sets
  4. Select the Product Manager – Non-Subscription Products Field Set
  5. Add Start Date into the In Field Set section
  6. Click Save

 

Create your Volume Pricing Records with Start & End Dates

  1. Go to the Volume Pricing Tab
  2. Click New Volume Pricing Group
  3. Select either Band or Tier
  4. Fill out the required fields
    1. Volume Pricing Name – Give it an appropriate name. Try to use a standardized naming convention.
    2. Price Book – Assign the appropriate Price Book for this Volume Pricing Group
    3. Start Date – When does the Volume Pricing Record become Active
    4. End Date
  5. Click Next
  6. Add all your applicable products from the left-hand column using the plus button.
  7. Click Next
  8. Set your band parameters.
  9. Then Save & Finish

Repeat the process until you have created all the Bands or Tiers for the given periods.

When Adding Opportunity Products via the Product Manager, Populate the Start Date. The code will then find the volume pricing record within which the start date falls and apply the volume pricing accordingly.
