Custom Account Plan Names

The Key Account Planner’s default Account Plan Name is an Auto-Number. You must retain this field as it is used as the clickable link in the list related to the account. However, this name is meaningless to users, and you will need to create a more meaningful Account Plan Name field. To do this, you have three options.

1. Create a Text Field – This allows the Users to set their Key Account Plan names however they choose
2. Create a Formula Field – This standardizes the naming convention. The User cannot change this value.
3. Create a Text Field and Auto-Populate it with a Flow – This standardizes the naming convention upon creation. However, the User can then change this value should they wish.

Remember to include whatever field you create on the related list and in list views and reports.
