This information is on the Sales vs Targets All Sales Report for this FY (L).
-
The Target Tracker App allows you to set targets at the salesperson, team, and product levels. An individual salesperson can have opportunities and opportunity products that link to all target records in a single month.
-
You should create targets for the appropriate people and given periods, aligning with the company's targets. The GSP Target Tracker is just the central location for tracking these targets.
-
The app allows you to set targets for custom fields. For instructions, please refer to the knowledge base or contact us.
-
They link to salesperson targets because the opportunity close date falls within the month of the target record. The target owner and opportunity owner will also be the same user.
-
When thinking about product targets, we look at them from the product category level. This is usually a collection of products associated with a group. Once defined at the product level, you can then create product targets. An opportunity product will link to a product target if the opportunity close date and target date are the same. The Product Category on the Product and Target match, and finally, the opportunity owner and target owner are the same user.
-
You can modify the Target Records in three ways:
- Editing the value of an individual record
- Editing the value via the in-line editing function in a list view
- Using the data loader to update target records in mass
-
You can see this information on the individual salesperson target record. You can also view this information on the salesperson target dashboard.
-
The Target Tracker app, by default, tracks the amount. Nevertheless, if you need additional fields unique to your business, you can easily add custom fields to the target tracker. Some non-financial metrics customers track are quantity, volume, and leads.
-
You can control the visibility of the Target Tracker using the standard features and Profile controls. However, remember that ideally, any user that can update an Opportunity or Opportunity Product needs edit access to the related Target records to ensure the functionality works.
-
Here are the best practices for using our app:
- Define clear targets
- Input accurate and consistent data
- Use dashboards for relevant insights
- Review regularly and analyze progress
- Utilize reporting features for decision-making
- Leverage historical data for future target planning
-
You can use custom roll-up fields on the target record to track revenue targets. Alternatively, the GSP Product Schedules app, which includes revenue-based targeting, maybe a better solution.
-
If you modify an Opportunity or Opportunity Product, the Target records will automatically recalculate.
-
You can use the app with any currency you choose. However, standard SFDC doesn’t support dated exchange rates for custom objects. So please get in touch if you use dated exchange rates.
