Account Plans Approval Processes
Some organizations choose to wrap an approval process around the Account Plan. For example, the salesperson creates the Account Plan and submits it to her manager for formal approval.
This formalizes the approach to account planning and helps embed the discipline of creating plans. For example, there will often be a deadline to get all Account Plans approved by a specific date.
Remember, however, that quality is critical. While the approval process creates a sense of urgency, it also plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality plans. In other words, the manager also commits to ensuring that the program has the appropriate content and objectives through the approval process.
You can use the standard Salesforce Approval functionality on your Account Plans.
There’s an Approval Status field on the Account Plan.
We recommend you automatically update this field based on the steps in the approval process. You can also create a report and dashboard chart to show the status of Account Plans and their approval status.
