Automatic rounding of Product Schedules
When using the straight-line method of calculating product schedules, we divide the Total Price of the Opportunity Product by the number of schedules.
For revenue schedules, the $ value of each schedule is calculated to two decimal places. Each schedule is calculated in integers, without decimal places for quantity schedules.
However, this can produce a rounding requirement. For example, dividing the Total Price by the number of schedules produces schedule values with three or more decimal places.
The app handles this by assigning the ‘leftover’ amount (e.g., the amount after two decimal places on revenue schedules) to the last schedule in the series.
For example, a Total Price of $1,200 over twelve months will produce twelve schedules of $100. However, a Total Price of $1,205 produces eleven schedules of $100.41 and a twelfth schedule of $100.49.
The automatic rounding also works for quantity schedules. The rounding is done in whole numbers.
