Sorting Opportunity Products & Product Schedules

Available In Product Schedules 2.181+

In certain scenarios, users may want to adjust the order in which Opportunity Products are displayed. Our “Manage Schedules” component allows Opportunity Products to be displayed in multiple orders related to creation date, product name, and even earliest revenue. This functionality provides end users with the information they’re interested in without needing to create custom reports or list views.

Prerequisites:
Please ensure the “GSP Product Schedules (Full Access)” Permission Set is assigned to the user, and the EditSchedulesParent Component has been added to the Opportunity Lightning Page.


Steps to Complete

  1. Navigate to an existing Opportunity in the system.
  2. Click the “Manage Schedules” button on the Opportunity.
    • If you can’t see the “Manage Schedules” button, please ensure you have added the custom button to the Lightning Page.
  3. Confirm that you are in the “Mass Edit Schedules” tab.
    • Our “Manage Schedules” component has two areas, “Mass Edit Schedules” and “Edit Schedules”.
    • This functionality is exclusively available in the “Mass Edit Schedules” tab.
  4. Click the “Sort Products by” picklist, and select a sorting option.
    • Sort Products by Created Date sorts Opportunity Products from earliest to latest by Created Date.
    • Sort Products by Ascending sorts Opportunity Products by Product name (A to Z).
    • Sort Products by Descending sorts Opportunity Products by Product name (Z to A).
    • Sort Products by Earliest Revenue sorts Opportunity Products from earliest to latest based on the first Product Schedule with revenue associated (amount must be greater than 0).

Note:
Sorting options are not saved permanently, and refreshing the page reverts to the default sorting option (Sort Products by Created Date).


Outcomes

After you select your sorting option, the Opportunity Products will be reordered as required.

Important Consideration:
Users cannot customise sorting options. If you’re interested in a different sorting option, please get in touch, and we’ll be happy to discuss the options.


Troubleshooting

Why do my Opportunity Products sort differently sometimes when sorting by Created Date?
In many cases, the Created Date of Opportunity Products is identical. If you’ve toggled between sorting options and then return to “Sort Products by Created Date”, the tool only moves the rows it needs to keep the view accurate.

Recommendation:
The view is accurate, but if you would like to reset the view completely, refresh your browser tab and reopen the “Manage Schedules” page.
Why can’t I see the “Manage Schedules” button?
The “Manage Schedules” button must be added to the page, either within the Opportunity page layout or the Lightning Page (depending on your setup).

Review our Product Schedules Quick Start Guide for a step-by-step walkthrough on adding the required components. If you don’t feel confident making these changes or don’t have an admin who can make them on your behalf, get in touch.
When I click the “Manage Schedules” button, nothing happens.
The “editSchedulesParent” (Manage Schedules) component must be added to the Lightning Page. If not, the “Manage Schedules” button will not function.
