Cancelling a Product midway through the Product Schedule Series

If a customer cancels an agreement midway through a series of schedules, you will likely want to adjust the schedules to reflect the cancellation.

Here are the steps to take:

  1. Go to the Opportunity.
  2. On the related list, select the Opportunity Product you wish to cancel (you are potentially only cancelling a subset of the products on the opportunity).
  3. In the Schedule Details Section, populate the Cancellation Date.
  4. Click Save.

The following then happens automatically to the Product Schedules associated with that Opportunity Product:

  1. The Product Schedules with dates earlier than the cancellation date remain the same.
  2. The Product Schedules with dates after the cancellation are set to $0.
  3. The Cancelled Value field populates the prior value of the canceled schedules. In other words, this field shows how much revenue was lost due to the cancellation.
