Creating Key Account Plans
What are Key Account Plans?
Key Account Plans allow users to describe the account management strategy, white space opportunities, business development initiatives, challenges, health reviews, and action plans for valuable customers and prospects.
When creating a Key Account Plan for a customer or prospect, users can outline the heat map and businesses that are influencing the plan’s outcome. You also define the plan’s objectives and overall account health, measuring sales revenue and income versus target.

How to Create a Key Account Plan
To create a Key Account Plan, start by going to an Account. Then click New on the Key Account Plan Related List. Depending on the page layout in your Salesforce environment, you may see the New button on the Related List Quick Links section or in the Related tab on the Account page.
Note: If you do not see the Key Account Plan-related list, your system administrator must add this section to the Account Page Layout.
When the New Key Account Plan window appears, fill in the appropriate fields. Here’s an overview of the out-of-the-box Account Plan fields.
Remember to click the Save button.
Congratulations, you just created your first Account Plan! Next, let’s add some Objectives.
